Four ounces of lean ground turkey on a nice, fresh soft bun with bell pepper and Monterey Jack cheese.

Turkey Burger

Ingredients

1 (4 oz) lean ground turkey patty
1 soft bun
1 cup red bell pepper, steamed
1-1/2 ounce 2 percent Monterey Jack Cheese
1 tablespoon ketchup

Directions

Broil 4-ounces lean ground turkey patty until cooked through.

Toast one soft bun. Place burger on bottom half of bun. Top with:

  • 1-cup steamed red bell pepper strips
  • 1-1/2 ounce 2-percent Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1-tablespoon ketchup

Top with remaining bun half. Enjoy.

Alternative: Meatless California Burger

Prepare any variety meatless burger according to package directions. Serve on a toasted whole-wheat bun with lettuce. Top with grilled peppers, cucumber and onion slices and fresh avocado. Round out with a fruit or garden salad.
